Upon settling in the Smithers area in 1996, Hanshi Marwan wasted no time in realizing his vision. In 1997, he established his inaugural school in the gymnasium of a local elementary school, laying the cornerstone for what would become a martial arts legacy.
Expanding his reach, Hanshi Marwan soon launched two additional locations, extending the influence of his teachings to Terrace, BC, and Houston, BC. His commitment to mentorship bore fruit as he guided numerous individuals on their journey to achieving the coveted black belt.
Today, Hanshi Marwan oversees a thriving family-run Dojo in Smithers, where he, alongside his family, serves as the custodian of martial arts excellence. The legacy of his teachings also extends beyond Smithers, with Lee-Ann and Sheldon Lainchbury, master students of Hanshi Marwan, spearheading Shogun Martial Arts in Williams Lake, embodying the principles instilled by their revered mentor.
Through his unwavering dedication, Hanshi Marwan continues to nurture the martial arts community in British Columbia, leaving an indelible mark on the world stage year after year, ensuring that his teachings endure and inspire generations to come.
